2005: Aging is the Nature of Life | Mantra#2 – NamMo TaMo TaMo DaRaHoang

Good Morning Today we have a little bit of technical problems because of the internet. However, now we connect to each other and we are going to begin today. We are now ready. I ask all of you to relax. Sitting down in the position which you feel comfortable. We look up to the Buddha to be one with the Buddha nature and return back to the source of original energy of life. Let us begin.

Nam Mo Shakyamuni,

Mu A Mu Sa

Nam Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng

May all the Buddhas from ten directions bless us and bless all our loved ones, especially that we pray that the Buddha bless our best friend’s mother, Su Co’s mother and also Eileen’s Mother. May all our mothers receive a very good compassion energy to relax, to enjoy life in a very peaceful way with all children and grandchildren surrounding.

Please put your right hand the wisdom hand on the top of your left hand, the compassion hand. There is no hurry for us to be jump on the wagon to run with the very fast and high speed to reach up to the goal. The goal of practicing meditation is not to achieve what so called the ultimate, highest point in life. But rather to let go. To be with the nature within us, so in the meditation with me we don’t need to run and hurry. We just need to take a walk, very slowly, return back to our home within this life that we are here for. Sitting in the position that you feel comfortable with is really important. It is not about what kind of position you should sit in to become. Remember, our great teacher, the Buddha, said that there is no form created that can make us to become. But there is the Buddha nature mind, leading all form into the peaceful way for us to live. Therefore depending our your body condition, allows you to sit in the position which you feel comfortable, good, healthy and peaceful, mindful. That the body, back bone, hip joint doesn’t bother you when you practice. That is most important. The mind is most important. We practice to train our mind to return back to the nature, but not control everything by the controlling mind according to whatsoever we are giving to.

So now let’s practice with the breathing technique. The mindfulness breathing technique in which we connect with all the Buddhas to receive a compassion energy from the Buddha. Remember, without connection, just like this morning, the internet could not connect making a ten minute delay. As long as we connect to the wi-fi, or as long as we allow ourselves to connect with the Buddha, then there is a lot of good energy that will come to us. Compassion energy, loving kindness energy. So let’s not surrender, but be one with the nature. Be one with the nature.

As you know we all breathe in and out and chanting the mantra to keep activating with the Buddha. There are two mantras we have already learned, Mu A Mu Sa, to activate our compassion energy in order for all of us to receive compassion energy and share merit to transform all kinds of suffering. The second mantra activates us to see through and beyond all kinds of impermanent suffering, and form, for us to let go of all to ease our self to be full of light, and turn on our wisdom to no longer attach to any form to enjoy life, the true life of the wisdom which to be one with the original energy. The energy of compassion, the energy of wisdom. Let us begin with the breathing technique now with me please.

May all be blessed from all Buddhas from the ten directions and may all of us receive a great compassion energy and the wisdom of the enlightened one. Breathe in, expanding the belly, hold it there for three seconds, concentrate by the heaven gate point, breathe out, sunken our belly chanting the mantra: Muuu Aaaa Muuu Saaa. Nam Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng.

We are keeping sitting still and follow the breathing technique in a very silent way. Allow our body to observe the energy, allow our wisdom to see through and beyond all the phenomena whatsoever that happens now which you sense be able to perceive. There is no rejections there is no selections, to make choice but there is to be one with the truth. The nature of all. That no need any man power to fix, to repair to put it back in the order that so called good. You all know thousands and hundreds of thousands of years, time has passed by. Most people always think they are so powerful that they want to become God himself, to fix, to make the nature back to the order of what mankind thinks is best. The more they try the more they mess up.

There is no power from man that could turn the nature back to where they think, but there is man need to be truth to allow himself to be more humble, returning back to the mother nature. So right now, there is no judgement inside your mind between anything. Let your mind be empty, just like the baby. Follow the breath of life. Connecting with the Buddha nature with all the enlightened ones. Let your mind be empty just like the baby follow the breath of life. Connecting with the Buddha nature. With all the enlightened ones. That we just be one like the sun. The sun of the wisdom that providing all energy for all life. We always thinking about our loved ones, our parents. Our family, our husband and wife, friend and all of the community, society we live in. Yes we love them all. We do care abut every body. Today we are talking about aging is the nature of life. But however, not just westerners or eastern, all from the east to the west, from the south to the north, from above or below. From all directions, wherever sentient beings are, we are afraid of aging.

Time goes by, we grown up and yes have to be truth and honest. We get older. That is the truth. No one can avoid no matter how you say. What you try to talk about to make it nice and feel good, but the truth is truth. Learning about the teaching of the Buddha, we have to go back to a very pure thought, which just means, sincere, and honest. If we cannot be honest and sincere to ourselves, our lives are meaningless. To be honest and sincere, time goes by. We are getting older. Yes, why avoid it, why run away, or make up to look young. It is ok to wear make-up to look beautiful, but not makeup to avoid our aging. The truth is always truthful from time to time. It does not mean that truth be for all, but that is not truth. The first step is to accept that the nature of life is always aging.  Whatever you are pointing to there is age. Avoiding the reality of aging we create more suffering because we are away from our honesty, our sincerity. Buddha said, again is suffering. If we don’t understand the truth of the process of life. Because we attach to our life as forever young, and permanent, That is misunderstanding, misguiding, misleading. Therefore, time goes by, we age, we get sick, we die, we suffer. Just because we are not honest with ourself. We do not accept that aging is the truth the realty of like. We get attached to here where we are and want it to be everlasting, and never die. That thought creates a lot of delusions that makes us suffer more every day. Because we look in the mirror every day. Sometime we keep looking in the mirror for an hour, when we suddenly discover in our face, in the corner of our eyes that there are some wrinkles, on the top of our forehead it looks like a farm. Our cheek and face, is getting darker, our skin no longer holds on for the brightest, lightest that we want. We keep looking and looking. We are suffering. Aging scares most people. But that doesn’t help. It punishes us more if we focus on those kinds of thoughts. Buddha understood that aging is the process of life. Look this way. You will understand that aging is wonderful for all. After a very long autumn and winter, all trees leaves fall down. You don’t see any leaves, no flowers. It seems that mother earth is sleeping. Two weeks ago the true spring arrived. In this temple we witnessed the spring come by seeing the flowers pop out of the bulbs. The flowers are beautiful Winter just is the last point of our very first destination, but the spring is a new beginning. The winter is the ending. Life is beautiful after the ending, because there is a new beginning. The new renewal of life. In the wintertime is cold. It is hard to go out, but you know the winter never exists forever. It will be gone, and the spring there it is, beginning.

Buddha says, look and see the aging as a new beginning of life. So like you are waiting for spring by counting the days of winter as they go by. It is wonderful when we see that winter goes by because we all know that spring is coming. That is the truth. So if you suddenly feel old, and you count every day looking into the mirror. The aging is showing that the spring is coming. The spring of the spirit. The truth

When we are young we never live and invest into our spiritual nature, our Buddha nature. When we get older time goes by, we live smarter, and invest wiser. The best it to invest into the Buddha nature. The good experience therefor the spring will come. When the physical body is again. Aging is the process of life that is wonderful. We all have to follow that process. Don’t go against the truth of the nature. Observe to follow the truth to be one with the process of life so we don’t suffer anymore. We learn this today to offer to our mom and dad our grandparents, or friends that are reaching up to the point of feeling old. We offer our merit, our wisdom, and we ask the Buddha to connect them with the Buddha for them to know that aging is just natural, and the spiritual spring is coming.

We offer our spring energy to refresh our loved ones for them to enjoy life that they slowly counting to the end this life destination with happiness, peacefulness, and remember the ending is the new beginning to come yet.

Let’s do the breathing technique with me. Together we connect with the Buddha and offer our compassion and wisdom to all as a network to cherish our life in a different way.

May all of us be blessed and understand the aging is the nature of life. So here we all observing and receiving the compassion and wisdom energy from the Buddha to be happy and enjoy our life. Breathe in expanding your belly, hold it there for three seconds, concentrate by the heaven gate point to receive a good energy from the Buddha in, and breathe out, sunken our belly, chanting the mantra slowly. Muuu Aaa Muu Saa. Nam Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng.

May all of us always be truly honest and sincere with ourself to know that we are all here for a good reason to cherish our life with all four seasons, and may all the eternal spring energy from the Buddha Bless all of us. Breathe in expanding the belly and observing the compassion energy, breathe out and offer our merit to all of our loved ones chanting the mantra: Muuu Aaaa Muuu Saaa  Nam Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng

May all our parents receive a greater compassion and wisdom energy for all Buddhas for them to know that we all love them. Every day goes by and there the spring comes. May all our parents enjoy life with the Beautiful garden of the spirit of the Buddha nature within to show to all of us yes, we all proud of our parents life. Breathe in, expanding our belly, hold it there for three seconds, observing the compassion and wisdom energy. Breathe out, sunken our belly, offer our merit to our parents, and chanting the mantra: Muuu Aaaa Muuu Saaa.  Nam Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng

We be silent, and just keep meditating and observing the energy, dear friends. The reality of life Is always truth no matter who you are. Where you were born, nationality, personality, how you look, does not make any difference. Just like the flowers are different colors, different scents, but still remain a flower. We are all the same. We are different how we look, how we live. Our culture and tradition, our languages. No matter, we are all the same as the sentient of being a human being. We need to treat each other equally, no difference. There is no kind of highest and lowest, that is just a perception of divide by us because we do not respect each other.

We talk about ourselves there is a time we were very young like a baby, now we are mature enough and reached the point we see yes, we are getting there, older.  If we just hold on for the baby, or youthful or youthful energy, physically whatsoever, and reject our old age. That means we are discriminating our own self. When we were born and when we were ten, twenty forty, sixty, eighty, one hundrend. There is no age we should hold onto and discriminate. We all love our own self. If you don’t accept aging is the nature of life. You create more negative energy. You are against your own will. You stuck there and make yourself suffer more. We all need to be honest, we always stuck there. We are very lucky, we learn about Buddhist, we learn to be honest with ourselves. If we cannot be honest with ourselves, we cannot be honest to others. That is the truth, no matter what.

Our parents face the moment that seeing and recognize that they are in the process of loving purely life. But we try no to inject into their thought or mind anyhow for them to feel aging is wrong. We should bless them and ask Buddha to bless our parents to be proud and feel good. There is the eternal spring coming. It is time to make a great investment into the Buddha nature to welcome the truth. There is no ending destination. But there is the bridge to move from one destination that we can see, to the new one. The ending is always the new beginning. The beginning of life of the truth of happiness, joyfulness, peacefulness. The truth is always true. We do not need to create by talking and making it. Buddha come to tell us the truth and teach us the truth. We have to live truthfully with the teaching of the Buddha and accept the four seasons of our life. I understand, you understand the four seasons of life. Always moving around in the circle of life. Every season is a good experience. Let’s enjoy, and not suffer by avoiding the truth of the reality of our life. Especially today in this Xa Loi Temple land I see so many beautiful flowers, I see the spring is coming, the truth renewal of life showing everywhere. But that is just because we started from early fall through the winter. We are, Su Co Boa Co and Eileen Dolan and some other members, very well to clean up to prepare when the winter is gone, to welcome the spring with all many different colors of all the flowers that are planted and taken care of through from fall to winter. Now I see every flower, and Su Co Boa Co and Ms. Eileen Dolan. We need to work out and maintain in a good condition for the new to come. In here from the bottom of my heart, I offer prayers and offer my merits and ask all the Buddhas to bless Su Co Boa Co mother, and Ms. Eileen Dolan’s mom to receive a greater compassion energy to heal quick and to enjoy life to see through there is the special eternal spring within the winter that is the true life there for our mothers to experience, and I hope, and I always pray for all our parents that always enjoy their life with every moment. Every hour every day, every week, every month and every year that they are still here on earth to bless us with their great love. We always pray and offer our merit all the time.

Let us put our hands together and do the breathing techniques again. May all the Buddhas bless all our loved ones, and for us to know that aging is the nature of life. Breathe in expanding our belly and hold it here for three second gate point observing the compassion and wisdom energy. Breathe out, sunken our belly, offering our merit to our loved one and chanting the mantra:

Muuu Aaaa Muuu Saaa       Nam Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng

Muuu Aaaa Muuu Saaa       Nam Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng

Muuu Aaaa Muuu Saaa       Nam Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng

Thank you that is the special Saturday. Thank you for practicing meditation with me. We practice every Saturday. I welcome all of you to physically come to the Temple in Frederick, or to the YouTube channel or face book. Send out an invitation to your friends to practice in English. Have a very good weekend. May all be blessed.
