Na Mo Shakyamuni

Mu A Mu Sa

Na Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng

May the Buddhas in the ten directions bless us, make us peaceful, happy and have the right view of all of life.

It is time for us to practice. Today is Saturday. If you are there with me, put your hands together to let go of all your worries, and sit down in the position that you feel comfortable at home. Wherever you are now.

Let us begin.  It is not about a great effort for us to become. It is a way for us to know ourselves much better every day. It is not the way of Buddhist religion, but is the way for us to go back to know who we are. So, meditation is a great benefit. Physically, mentally, and spiritually. It is not because it is a form of a religion, but just because it is the way for us to go back to be in touch to know ourselves much better. Therefor of course, it benefits us physically, mentally and spiritually. So with us today and every Saturday we sit together especially here in Frederick, Maryland in Xa Loi Temple, near Buckeystown.

We do this every Saturday to be together with us to practice. Our goal is for all of us who have the right time to be. Who have the interest to practice, to share our merit, and to connect it with the greater energy from all Buddhas. That is the compassion energy. Lighting up our wisdom so we can see through and have the right view for life.

Let go with this, we go with the breathing technique first. You all know we learned the first Mantra, Mu A Mu Sa.  Mu A Mu Sa means connect and receive the compassion energy from all Buddhas in the ten directions to transform our life. The second Mantra: Na Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng, that is for us to know the truth. Impermanence, because it is impermanent it creates suffering, because of impermanence we know there is no I. We live moment to moment. The second mantra is for us to be happier within every impermanent moment that we go through in life, also because off the two mantras, very powerful, it knocks down all of your attachment, and flattens down your ego, and we see each other equally with love and compassion. So, we forgive each other and we can live in a very harmonious way.

Let’s do the breathing technique together. We are going to do the first and second mantra continuing one after the other.

May all sentient beings be free of suffering and may the Buddhas bless us to activate our compassion and also for us to know there is impermanence suffering, no I. Breathe in, expanding our belly, hold it there for three seconds, concentrate on the heaven gate, breathe out, sunken your belly, chanting the mantra: Muuu Aaa Muu Saa.  Breathe in, Breathe out, Chanting: Na Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng

May all sentient beings be free of suffering and may all of us receive the special blessing from all Buddhas from the ten directions for us to know about impermanence suffering, no I. Breathe in, expanding the belly, hold it there for three seconds, concentrate on the heaven gate point. Breathe out, sunken our belly, chanting the Mantra: Muuu Aaaa Muuu Saaa.  Breathe in, Breathe out Chanting: Na Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng

Breathe in, expanding your belly. Hold it there for three seconds, concentrate on the haven gate point. Breath out. Sunken you belly, chanting the mantra: Muuu Aaaa Muu Saaa. Na Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng. Muuu Aaa Muu Saa, Na Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng.  Muu Aaa Muu Saa, Na Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng , Muuu Aaaa Muuu Saaa, Na Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng. Muu Aaa Muu Saa, Na Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng.

Keep sitting still, maintaining your meditation in a silent way. Today we talk about, “Born to Live Right”.  In life we cannot give out the correct definition for one to live right because the perspective from everyone totally different. What is right for you is not right for someone else. What could be right for another is not right for you. So what this means “Born to Live Right” there is no one who can point a finger to tell you how to live this way or that way. Everyone of us seems to be moving on for what we think is right for ourselves. Could be because of everyone being so different, that we could not see through the other, and just attach to our own understanding of right. Therefore, we spend so much time to correct other people to live the way we think in always right. But you know we get tired because we cannot correct people to live right. We can only correct ourselves to be with the righteousness of the truth because we do not even know ourselves so much. We are so different every day, every moment of life. Our thought is not still it is shaking. Only practice helping us to be more stable you know we go to school we study, we study, and we study. Then we keep practicing. Only practice is helping us to transform the knowledge to turn it into the thing we can use in life. Meditation is not about fancy talk, or written down in the way of poems or any form of written language which promotes the idea, or philosophy whatsoever. But meditation is the way to know ourselves, the truth. There is no need to do anything to make it nice, to make it friendly. It just truly how it is. The first mantra we practiced for years already is really important.  Mu A Mu Sa is very powerful to transform our life. Mu A Mu Sa is the special mantra, empowering ourselves to connect with all the Buddhas to receive the compassion energy which can transform all our negative energy. All of us know without compassion energy without love energy there is nothing exists that will make a good meaningful life. Life is meaningful just because of compassion, just because of love. So, meditation is from the Mu A Mu Sa helping us to build strong roots within ourself that not just alone, but with all Buddhas from ten directions. Together with the Buddha with friends, with master, with students we are all sharing the same goal which is connecting ourselves and sharing our merit energy to maintain the highest quality of life with living spirits which always with compassion energy. This is the second year we practice. We practice the second mantra: Na Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng. With the mantra, we will be able to see the right view of the truth. The right view of the truth helping us to know that we are born to live right. Which just means, born to live with the truth, live with the right view, meaning that we view all things with no attachment to our own perspective. No attachment at all. Because all things are impermanent. It is not there for you to attach to feel strong, because nothing exists more than a second. There is no need to hold on or lean on to feel strong.  When we practice this mantra consistently, every day just about five minutes of more depending on your time. Depending on how much you want to invest into the truth of knowing yourself. Investments this is a great investment to know yourself you know. We invest most of our life for something that does not exist. Why not return back to make a good decision to create a special investment to know the truth. The truth about our life. Na Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng is helping us connect with the true information from the compassion energy from all Buddhas for us to have the right view of our life. Born to live Right. If we practice, we are going to live right, and we will be happy to be born here on earth. If we don’t practice, we just flow with whatever comes and goes, just like the wind. We call it chasing the tail of the wind, just like the dog chasing the tail. You are going to get tired, depressed, and create more suffering for yourself. Let’s stop it and redirect to care, to love yourself so you can offer your life to benefit all who you love. Could be your husband, wife, parents, children, spiritual community, master, student or friends. So, we choose every Saturday to practice. Very early in the morning of Saturday for us to spend a weekend with family with loved ones before we enjoy our weekend, we tap into a very good compassion energy, to clean up, to have a very clear right view. So we know we are born here to live right. Life with the truth which benefits all of our loved ones. Not just for ourselves only. We are supporting each other every Saturday. Just need to practice if you are very busy on Saturday only is also beneficial through the whole week to motivate you to take on the practice by yourself during the weekdays, even just five minutes really benefits. Remember, the spring just came. Be all have a beautiful plan for our gardens, there are flowers we want to plant, things we want to enjoy, vacations or working outside. Five minutes of practicing meditation. Step into the spiritual garden an make it more beautiful For us to enjoy spring, and summer time, all four seasons of the year. We know how to take care of our spiritual garden. So, every time we are chanting these two mantras with the mindfulness breathing technique we receive a very good energy. So, when we practice now there is compassion energy from all Buddhas from ten directions We transform into our body and mind the vibrations from the compassion energy will liberate every one of us away from the negative energy and let go of our attachment for all of us to live more happily. To enjoy life. Life is very joyful It does not need to have suffering but enjoy together with the breathing technique. We are going to begin now.

May all the Buddhas bless us to be no longer suffering and enjoy our life and understand very clearly we are born here to live right. Breathe in, expanding our belly, hold it there for three seconds, concentrate on the haven gate point. Breathe out, sunken your belly, chanting the mantra: Mu A Mu Sa. Na Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng. I just try to tell you clearer about the second mantra. The first mantra, Mu A Mu Sa has four sounds, Mu – A – Mu – Sa we can call four numbers. We divide our body to become four sections from the tail bone up to the top of our head. The second point above the tail bone about one finger. In between your lower stomach to the higher stomach. If you touch there between the bone and the soft tissue, is the second station.  Mu – from the end bond, A – right here, and the next Mu or third station in you neck. The fourth one is on the top of your head. Right on top of your head. You say Mu from the tail bone, A right here, Mu  Sa.

The second mantra you have more than four words. Na Mo is the first at the ending bone, Ta Mo at the stomach, second Ta Mo at your neck, Da Ra Houng at the top of your head. When breathing in you bring the air in and go in a circle. You allow your energy flow from the tail bone to the top of your head. Resting a little bit at each station along the way. Allowing your body to absorb the energy. It is very easy to pay attention to Na Mo from the Tail bone, then Ta Mo up to here, Ta Mo to the neck, Da Ra Houng to the top of your head. Then you move your mind down to your lower body as you breathe in right down to the tail bone expanding your belly. You say Na Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng

That’s all. Just repeat it. Then you will fill with the great energy flow in a circle like that all the time from your mindfulness breathing technique. You allow that energy to transform into your body naturally.

Let’s do it together.

I practice, and we practice. Only practice is helping us to get to know and get you to.

Breathe in, expanding your belly, hold it there for three seconds, concentrate on the heaven gate point. Breathe out, sunken your belly, chanting: Muuu Aaa Muu Saa. In – out chanting: Muu Aaa Muu Saa.

Second Mantra in- out chanting: Na Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng.  First mantra continuing and allow the energy to circulate. We should be in and out with no saying anything.

In Out Chant: Muu Aaa Muu Saa…. Na Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng

Muu Aaa Muu Saa …… Na Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng

Muu Aaa Muu Saa …… Na Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng

We just practiced, Born to live right. Look around you every plant in the garden is here on the earth and has the right to live where is the correct location it is supposed to be otherwise relocate them for them to enjoy life. We remove each other away from their own right. Let’s break through to know the truthe that we don’t have to change others. We share our own view of right with others. We listen to their own view of right to live right. It is really important to listen to all living spiritually. The second mantra helps us balance the negative energy to transform our view. To have a right view which is important. Right View is right for all to live happily and freely. This weekend is very special because we know, Born to Live Right. Means let people be free to enjoy their own view of right. We are going to live through this weekend. Not to convert, not to control, not to make people follow but help every one of us to return to the truth, the truth of living spiritually which respects the right view from all. Just like enjoy to see all beautiful flowers even though they have different scents, different forms, but they all dedicate, it is beautiful. Every one of us represent the most beautiful flower within this world. Now we are here to live. Let’s do the mantra a couple more times. With this time I ask all of you thinking about your parents offer our good compassion and connect our parents with the Buddha for them to receive this special blessing. Don’t need to tell. Love does not need to be told. Action is what is important. We thinking about husband wife, children, friends, master and student, thinking of all within a second and offer all to be one.

May all understand there is no right which only with our own view. But live right and living with all differences with no attachment and no corrections. Breathe in – out chanting:

Muu Aaa Muu Saa In Out Chanting Na Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng

In-Out chanting: Muu Aaa Muu Saa  ….. Na Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houn

Muu Aaa Muu Saa….. Na Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng
