3021. Never look back

Good Morning, It is Saturday, let us begin. May all the sentient beings be free of suffering and may all of us receive compassion, wisdom and awakened energy from all Buddhas in the ten directions to maintain our mind. Concentrate on what it means. For the moment that we live now. May all our loved ones be blessed.

Let’s sit down in a position that you feel comfortable and put your right hand on top of your left hand. Make sure to keep your backbone straight up , your neck straight up too. Just relax. Relax.

Meditation is a healing practice. Every second that we meditate it helps us to heal ourselves. And olso to reduce the stress and good to offer our good merit energy to all our loved ones.

Mindfulness breathing techniques is what Buddha teaching for thousands of years. If we take on this practice every day, it is very beneficial for our health. We will be able to enrich our power and also activate our inner peace.  So, our meditation techniques are mindfulness meditation together with the mantra that we chant. Right now, there are three mantras we are chanting. The first one Mu A Mu Sa means compassion, we activate our compassion by chanting this mantra. When we chant there is the energy connected directly from us to the Buddhas. It vibrates and is moving physically that is helping us to be healthy. The second mantra, the wisdom mantra, Na Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng, it helps us see through our life so we can let go of what is no longer necessary to carry with. The third mantra is the awaked mantra, Ma Sa Op Ue, the power of this mantra is help us to be one with all the enlightened ones for us to be fully awake every second.

For those who are new, you can loo back to the very first video on how to do this. When you breathe in you breathe in through your nose and carry down to the lower belly and you are expanding your belly. Hold the air there for three seconds. You concentrate on the heaven gate point which is in front of the tail bone. After that you breathe out, you sunken your belly and chant the mantras slowly. The sound is going to come from the lower part of the body very slowly.

Let’s practice.

Breathe in, expanding your belly, hold it there for three seconds, concentrating on the heaven gate point, breathe out, sunken the belly, chanting the mantra:

Mu A Mu Sa, Na Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng, Ma Sa Op Ue (7x)

In meditation, all we do is just relax, and flow with the energy. Life is energy. Life is force. The good energy creates a good force to support us. The negative energy pushes us down. Never look back. That is what Buddha said. It does not means never, never look back at what happened. It is good to reflect from the past, see through, investigate to know for sure what happened to create that and then we let go. That is what we mean. But in life we are very easily to just turn around and look back. Never be able to stay away and we couldn’t even move forward anymore. If we don’t practice that will create to always return back to that. Buddha says we suffer because we lose our lifetime by never living in mindfulness, mindful now. Whatever we make or create, wrong or right is no matter, when it is done it is done. Living now in the moment is not easy because our human nature every day we all talk about the past or the future. That is life. It creates the society in that way for thousands and thousands of years.

We need to spend time to be mindful to live within the now. That is the only way that we can activate our inner peace to transform our suffering. The practice that we do is the healing art. Only for one who loves to heal themselves to be healthier, happier, peaceful. For one who doesn’t it’s alright. We all have to make the choices for our lives. For those who choose meditation as a way to transform the suffering w have to practice. Buddha said, never look back. Learn from the past, but don’t look back from the past, dig in and stay there. Move on, let go. He said that is the truth because in the second mantra we practice, Na MO Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng, we call the wisdom mantra which lighting up our knowledge for us to know all phenomena is impermanent. It never exists forever. When it happens, in just a split of a second it is gone. But the nature of our mind it to record it and hold it forever.

It is good just like when we are looking back into history that we learn, so we teach our children to learn from history to be well prepared and prevent, to not let what is the history that has already happened repeat. We learn from that.  To never look back means, learn from the past but move on by living now. The second mantra is the key for us to meditate on impermanence. To see the reality that everything is impermanent. Everything is impermanent. Form or emptiness are all impermanent.  Therefor what caused the suffering or made you sad we know it is impermanent. It’s ok, when you are unhappy, when we suffer or are sad, but at that moment we use the second mantra to recognize that I am sad, I am suffering, I feel bad. Whatsoever happened, acknowledge it is there. Do nothing, just use your wisdom to see through, see clearly, and recognize yes, they are there. Support that mantra by the first one Mu A Mu Sa. We are activating our compassion with the compassion eyes supporting the wisdom to see all what happened within you, and convert those kinds of negative energy to become positive energy. It really works. So whatever is bothering you , it has already happened. It is still there because the negative energy is held so deep in your mind, in order to transform it we need to acknowledge it is there and use Mu A Mu Sa.  Keep your mind on Mu A Mu Sa and acknowledge the suffering, the sadness. Whatever you feel, suffering, sadness, mistakes. Say it is all impermanent and uses the compassion energy from all Buddhas to clean up what you acknowledge is there if it is negative.  If it is positive, it will grow up better and produce a good merit energy. If negative it will transform.

Just like taking care of our garden. If we plant flowers, we have to take care. There are members like Eileen, the monks and nuns. I ask them to plant flowers and take care. You plant something good, you have to take care of the weeds that grow up and clean it. It is the same. Positive and negative energy always exist in us. We promote more positive energy by Mu A Mu Sa and transform the negative with Mu A Mu Sa.

In our water system at the temple, we have the light, the green light, the call the laser light in the water. When we use the technique to clean up the water that is required by the government because we are using the well. Because we are public the water needs to be clean and good.  The mantra, Mu A Mu Sa, just like that laser light, it purifies your mind. It cleans up your negative energy by just chanting it with the mindfulness breathing techniques. It is very simple practice just like what you have just practiced. We breathe in and breathe out chanting Mu A Mu Sa , Na Mo Ta Mo Ta MO Da Ra Houng, Ma Sa Op Ue, by doing so we meditate on Compassion, Wisdom, and awaken together with the breathing. When we do that we receive a lot of good, positive energy. The energy from all Buddhas and all Bodhisattvas and it awakens our inner peace energy and we are filled with the energy flowing in our body. This is the healing meditation. In order to never look back we have to practice because the nature of the mind always makes a u-turn back to the past. We are sitting in the drivers seat, we are driving forward. If we look back all the time we create the action. To sit on the driver’s seat and look forward to see just sometimes we look backwards by the rear view mirror. But never look back all the time.  By that I mean, just by practicing Mu A Mu Sa, Na Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo, Ma Sa Op Ue, together we will receive the compassion, wisdom and awakened energy, It is very helpful. That is all we do and that energy naturally transforms the negative energy, and transforms whatever happened in the past. If it created suffering, sadness, ti will be transformed naturally. The nature of the compassion, wisdom energy is transforming all and recreates the new planet, just like the black hole. The nature of the black hole transforms all the junk that float around the universe to transform into something better.

Practicing meditation transforms us every second. So I am encouraging you to take on the practice and never look back, and make a u turn back to the past. Move forward by mindfulness meditation on compassion wisdom and awakening. This weekend it a long holiday weekend, let us go back to the breathing techniques. Together we offer all our merit energy, our positive energy, our love, to all of our loved ones, our parents especially, our family, our loved ones, our community, our sangha. Let us connect to all by compassion and wisdom and awakened energy. May all be able to move forward and let go from the past. Look back, learn and move on.

Breathe in, expanding the belly, hold it there for three seconds, concentrate on the heaven gate point, breathe out, sunken our belly, chanting the mantra and offer to all.

Mu  A Mu Sa, Na Mo Ta Mo Ta Mo Da Ra Houng, Ma Sa Op Ue (7x)
